Revised old poem because my mind just couldn’t poem today.
White wisps of wonder,
Shades of dazzle blue and gritty gray,
Tucked in folds of splendor
The floating cities greet the day.
Don’t you see the slender stairs?
They cushion the feet in mist.
And there the spiraled towers fair
Stretch up to the sky in a twist.
There’s the ocean in deeper shades of gray and white.
The waves ripple with laughter,
As birds through them take flight,
Kicking up cotton spray as they go faster and faster.
Off in the distance, the billowing thunderhead
Challenges the lightening that dares to climb
The mountain with its clefts far spread,
Reaching from the beautiful to the sublime.
But now the city fades away,
The magic is left behind.
We’ll meet again someday
For those who seek will find.
