Start a blog, they said.

Writers need exposure, they said.

You have to engage in social media, they said.

I’ve tried, I said.

Try again, they said.

And here we are.

I’m embarrassed to admit how many times I have tried and failed to maintain a blog…or even a personal journal. But I have never had one strictly devoted to writing. Nor have I ever tried to build a platform for myself as an author before, so here goes nothing.

It is my desire to make this a place to publish a few short stories or excerpts from my current projects, but I also hope to write about my experience along the way. I’m currently seeking publication for one of my novels and also writing a brand new novel. As someone who has never been published before, but has finished many books, I hope to catalogue my journey and maybe even give some tips along the way.

I hope you can forgive my fumbles. And maybe provide some feedback of your own.

Perhaps we can manage this journey together that I have made little headway with on my own.

As Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10a says: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.”

We may fall down a hole one of these days and we need each other to get out.

With that said, let’s begin.
